Belgian-Style Golden Ale Aged on Oak with Citrus & Spices
Snicklefritz is a citrusy, spiced, oaked Golden Strong Ale originally developed and homebrewed by Kyle Manns. It is spiced with cardomom, ginger, juniper berries and coriander, along with fresh lemon, orange, grapefruit and tangerine zests. After fermentation, the already complex concoction was aged on oak cubes to add one more layer of flavor. We’ve production brewed it at The Bruery.
Original batch was 9.2% ABV. The newest release (bottled as a Provisions Series beer) is 10% ABV.

Pours a slightly cloudy deep golden color with a huge fluffy white head that has great retention and lace. Smells of lemon, orange, wheat, and spice. Slightly sweet malt in the nose mixed with tart spicy undertones. Taste is again sweet with malts but also has a spicy citrusy bite to it. Finishes with a bit of warming alcohol heat mixed with some candied sugar. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a sweet but tart mouthfeel. I’m really digging this one! Sweet and strong Belgian pale that’s quite easy to consume.

Growler thanks to JohnC. Pours with a hazy glowing gold and a large fluffy white head. Aroma of tangerine, apricot, florals, oak and coriander. Very nice. Taste is orange, coriander, vanilla, oak, tannic, and Christmas spices. Creamy carbonation. Great, spicy Belgian.
