Belgian-Style Golden Ale Aged on Oak with Citrus & Spices
Snicklefritz is a citrusy, spiced, oaked Golden Strong Ale originally developed and homebrewed by Kyle Manns. It is spiced with cardomom, ginger, juniper berries and coriander, along with fresh lemon, orange, grapefruit and tangerine zests. After fermentation, the already complex concoction was aged on oak cubes to add one more layer of flavor. We’ve production brewed it at The Bruery.
Original batch was 9.2% ABV. The newest release (bottled as a Provisions Series beer) is 10% ABV.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong spice, citrus, floral. Medium mouth, nice fruity malt, spice, hides alcohol well, held up very nice.

Had been holding onto this bottle for quite some time (like 2 years or something) and finally opened it. Poured a pretty clear golden color, some sediment now in the bottle due to travel from my place to destination. Aroma was some spices, a touch of some citrus, yeast notes. Flavor was some oak notes, citrus, spices. Alcohol pretty well masked, surprisingly so. Not too bad! Enjoyable.

750mL bottle, bonused to me by 48FanInCali (thanks Austin), pours a hazy golden amber with a medium white head. Aroma is very spicy, with weird indiscernible spices (maybe clove, coriander), and some oak - the spices dominate though. Flavour brings out weird pineapple notes, some coriander, pumpkin spices, and a little oak. Very bizarre array of flavours, probably due to the spices. The citrus doesn't really come out, nor is the oak very prominent. Drinkable, but forgettable.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes brettanomyces, malt, wood, and oranges. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wood, oranges, straw, and brettanomyces, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of thagr81_us. Pours a hazy deep golden with a small off-white head. Fruity, somewhat alcoholic in the nose, a little rubbery. Medium body, fruity bananaish with some subtle phenols and a rather bozy finish. Interesting. 250213

Very hazy gold - amber beer. Tidy white head. Silky smooth palate with prickly carbonation. Sweetish malts with a little banana ester. Tinned peach syrup and a little peppery spice. Semi dry finish. Not bad - a little tripel like.
