I had a glass of Ladron from a tap at Lino's Trattoria and Pizzeria in Santa Fe yesterday evening. The server said Ladron is not exactly a barley wine but that's what it looked and tasted like. Dark brown in color with a creamy skim of yellow-tan foam. The smell was ripe fruit and brown bread. The drink was nice. Dark fruit, caramel, grain and an ample amount of alcohol. A little thin but then I think that is a characteristic of most barley wines. Rather decent.
