Bottle: Chestnut-amber coloured, small, but stable tanned layer; sweet caramel and burnt malt in the nose plus faint illusions of grassy hops in the background; moderate sweet flavour, not cloying, almost medium bodied; shorter caramelly-sweet finish with a light citrussy-hoppy aftertaste. A bit sweet, but well drinkable.....

bottle (3.5%), courtesy of Bierkoning - Many thanks! Deep brown colour, mid-sized off-white head. Malty nose. Malty and sweet with lots of caramel, shy hints of chocolate and very very shy hop flavours in the finish. A nice little beer!

Test vom 2.6.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,6,7,5,9,6 - 6,45

Bottle, 3%. Metallic puke aroma. Very dark brown, almost black colour. Small unstable head. The flavour is quite malty and sweet, not sour. Ends on a disappointingly dry and tasteless flavour. Drinkable in big gulps, by no means a meditational beer. Saccharine aftertaste.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear mahogany with a tint of red. Small, creamy, light brown head. Weak aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Medium-bodied with sweetish, roasted malt notes and some lightly spiced, perfumy notes. Quite nice really - and perhaps the best Dutch Oud Bruin I’ve had. 291006

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a big foamy tanned head slowly lacing. Soft sweet malty aroma with notes of butter and wet straw. Slight sweet flavour, distinctive malty taste with caramel and a buttery pleasant aftertaste with a slight bitterness. Well done Oud Bruin, definitely not too sweet and quaffable.
