Supersweet, too much for me. Some roasted malts, burnt caramel and lots of candied sugar. Bit watery, though. Goodish instead of coke?

Bottle in Valkenburg. Dark brown, beige foam. Very sweet nose, almost only caramel. Very bad.

This has nothing to do with the Flanders Oud Bruin that’s brewed in Belgium, and is, in fact, quite the opposite, in terms of styles, aside, maybe, from the somewhat similar colour. Very sweet and malty (from what I understand, sweetener is added during the brewing process), with no trace of bitterness or sourness of any kind.

Bottle (from beerExpress, Tallinn). Pours dark ruby with beige-light brown head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, grainy, malty. Flavor is very sweet, malt, fruits, grains, roast. Finish has some faint wood and dry bitterness. Body is very watery. Overall: drinkable-ish.

Typical Dutch oud bruin, so a brown table beer that has nothing to do with what is called ’oud bruin’ in Belgium. Dark reddish brown colour, beige head, malty nose, caramel, chocolate, sweet taste, bit sugary as expected for the style, bit fuller and maltier than usual but inevitably thin due to the low alcohol content.

Opaque dark brown colour, frothy tan head, good lacing; sweet malty nose, bread, roasted, caramel, brwon sugar, dark sweet syrup. Taste light heavy sweet, sugary, slightly bitter. Light body, soft carbonation, oily to watery texture. Sweet finish slightly dry, hint of cinnamon, acceptable brew.

Nice dark brown color with a nice deep dark red glow coming through. Smell sweet. Very sweet taste as well, yet decent. Low carbo and body.
