A nod to the Americas, the word Feallan is the old English word for “to fall” obviously referencing, as the Americans term it, “the fall”, autumn as it should be called. And of course, Oktoberfest falls (no pun intended!) during autumn. This beer is an English take on German tradition and it abides by the traditional rules. Lager, tick, extra, malty like Marzen, tick, higher abv than your standard lager, tick! It’s a superlative example of the traditional style. It amalgamates caramel, sweet malts and lager crispness marvellously. If you Feallan, this beer will catch you!

On cask @ Beauchief Hotel - Highlight of the night. The last month looking for a decent Märzen , and here it is in my own back yard. Deep bronze body, lovely mouthfeel, a nice kick of citrus booze. A bit of München in Yorkshire... and shared with a bunch of Germans who loved it. Job done. Well done Thornbridge!
