To celebrate our 3000th batch brewed at Airport Way, we let our imaginations run wild and held an open contest among the brewing team. The winner was an ode to the classic dessert Bananas Foster. Batch 3000 is an imperial stout brewed with turbinado sugar, banana puree, and cinnamon that was aged in rum barrels for one year and finished on vanilla beans. Life is short – drink dessert first.

16 oz can from a 4 pack. Picked up at the local liquor shop. About 22 bucks for the pack, but for a big league, BA imperial stout, I'm not complaining. Dark and dense midnight black pour with a dark tan foam head. Loved the BCBS Bananas Foster, and see a lot of comparable notes here. Bold barrel notes with a semi sweet milk chocolate, banana, and vanilla. It's rich but not bothersome. Cinnamon spice is minimal, but noticeable. Rum linger is both fun and unique. An obvious dessert stout without a cloying pastry sweetness. A very good stout here. Definitely one of the more impressive Elysian offerings in recent memory.
