Waggon & Horses, York 26 Jan 13. Kjemperyprød / sort. Lavt - litt farget skum. Etterlater punktlacing på glasset. Aromaen er forskitig røstet malt. Smaken er balansert. Sjokolade. Litt bitterhet i en ellers søt ettersmak.

Cask (handpump) @ Rook and Gaskill, 12 Lawrence Street, York, North Yorkshire, England YO10 3WP.Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, citrus, light grass. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. IMO. more like a black ipa. [20130122]

Hand pulled cask ale at Waggon & Horses, half pint. Jet black body, spotty lacework. Plain aroma of chocolate malts. Mild taste of chocolate malts, mid-sweet. Smooth bittersweet aftertaste. Soft in the mouth. Easy to drink. Quite pleasant (York, 26.01.2013).
