Ins Glas ergießt sich ein kupferfarbenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht rauchig, röstmalzig, getreidig. Geschmack getreidig, malzig, leicht fruchtig, Karamell.

50 cl bottle @ Timo A, BBE 07.09.2013
Aroma is musty and odd with urinal cake and peaty notes. Flavour has urinal cake, some slight whisky notes, hints of toffee. Very unusual to confront urinal cake aromas in a beer like this. Interesting, but perhaps a body too weak to bear the whisky aromas. Feels quite sticky at the end of the glass – a feature from whisky malt I guess.

500ml bottle. Clear reddish dark copper colour with average, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Malty aroma with a slighty fusty, smoky and peaty note. Taste is minimally sweet malty, slightly peaty, cautiously smoky. Slightly monotonous, simply catching the effect and neglecting the other features to produce an overall fully developed and balanced beer.

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass dark brown, small head. Starts malty-dry, modest smokey, intense notes of caramel. Finish a bit unbalanced, less sweet than the beginning. Light alcoholic notes. Not my favourite.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Clear, copper coloured, medium-sized and stable off-white head, mild but distinctive sweetish-smooky (woodfire-like) nose with a caramelly-fruity base; mild to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, relatively light bodied for a beer of 6.0%; less smoke, more fruits in the sweetish-malty finish. A bit too much on the sweet side, but still nice…

(swing top bottle) Clear, amber to copper colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Mildly toasted malty aroma with notes of bread, berry-fruits and a little peat from behind. Slightly bitter flavour, surprisingly light bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly toasty cara-malty taste with more evident peat-character from the middle part, accompanied by delicately bready and very subtle fruity notes; sweet and slightly hop bitter finish with toasty and peaty malt, also warming notes of alcohol shining through. Lacks a bit body, otherwise a drinkable Lager. 19.X.12
