Our first take on a Cold IPA, an IPA style fermented cold with American-lager type adjuncts to reduce yeast eaters and let the hops take center stage. Ours uses rice to decrease malt notes and gets its hop character from tropical neomexicanus hops (Sabro and Talus) as well as citrus notes from Citra and experimental hop HBC 735. Last, these major hop players are supported by a sprinkle of tropical Ekuanot. Citrus, pineapple, stone fruit, cantaloupe, and cedar. Slight haze, medium bitterness and body.

Draft pour, enjoyed at Bale Breaker, Ballard. Mostly clean golden appearance, plenty of foam head and sticky lacing. Lots of piney hop aroma and flavor, bold forest bitterness. A little hot in the finish. Tastes stronger than it is. Kinda an odd thing to say about this beer considering name. I like a bite in my IPAs though. Solid brew.
