You probably have lots of questions: What happened to British beer styles? Well, you see, they "don't sell." (We've heard that a few times, but we aren't listening.) Why is it the second best? Because everyone in England always argues that they make the Best Bitter. This beer came from a double mash of a barleywine batch. Dry-hopped lightly with Fuggles to give oaky and piney notes, this beer is probably too bitter--or not bitter enough. I can tell you one thing: it's meant to be sessioned in the English sense. Pull up a seat to the bar and transport yourself back to a day before bottle cap ratings, American-only football on the telly, oh and MALT!

16 oz can poured. Bright, slight cloudy golden pour, a rocky, off-white foam head. Aroma is a nice blend of malts, both bready and spicy. Flavor matches, and has a wide variety of malts from sweet to spicy, to even smokey. Gentle, lighter beer with tons of flavor. Late lingering soft smokey note, which I love. Really nice brew here, one that really grew on me as it went.
