Sample @ Brewpub, Capitol Hill
Pours dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, caramel and cherry. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Downtown location 16oz ($3.50): I guess this is the right rating place: called Belgian Cherry when I was there. Anyway it poured a reddish color with no head. Aroma was of cherries and amber ale nonsense. Watery and mediocre. Kind of sweet. This is like a bad imitation of Belgian ale and it really doesn’t work. Imagine a really bad version of Rare Vos, with artificial cherry flavor. Yeah. grand.

Draft at Shirlington. Hazy color. Aroma is fruity, and it does taste like cherry. Wasn’t my favorite of the place, but was decent enough.

[As 4 raters before me have, I’m going to rate the Belgian Fruit that I had at the Downtown location prior to the RBESG 2006 here] A reddish beer with no head. The aroma is quite light with notes of strawberries. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of fruit, strawberries, and berries of the forrest. Forgettable.
