(Cask at St Urhos Pub, 20171022) The beer poured brown and hazy. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had malts, caramel, earth and nuts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, earth, nuts, lightly molasses, caramel and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A nice malty bitter with nutty notes.

Cask at the Holborn Whippet. Pours bright deep chestnut brown with minimal off-white head. Aroma of hop, malt, caramel, fruit, nut and bread. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Toward medium body and slight oily texture, carbonation is soft to flat. A decent and very traditional brown ale.

Cask at Beer Hunters, Pori. Dark ruby color, medium-sized steady beige head and lace. Hoppy, caramelly, gives almost licoricey combination. Light-bodied. Caramel, piney hops, drying mouthfeel at the end. Ok.

Cask at Akkurat, 11/28/16.
Dark chestnut, but bright allowing lighter ruby hues to shine through. Large beige head is well-retained.
Very fruity in the yeast department, with soft, fruity, mildly citric hops as well. It works well with the lightly chocolatey but predominantly base malt character of the nose. Some light, crunchy brown bread-like character and otherwise strong cleanliness.
Malty and yet nicely dry, with a substantial malt texture, tight but low carbonation and low specialty malt character, thankfully. There’s some brown bread, hazelnut and light chocolate, but that’s the extent. Vanilla, honey, marmalade, plentiful red fruits (yeast) and more brown bread round out the flavorful finish. Very nice stuff!
