Draft pour at Winter Beer Fest, being one of the headlining acts for me, and certainly was a no brainer to try, I just didn’t no how damaging this particular pepper beer would be. Do I end on it, do I start with it. Just hearing them describe this beer, it seemed to be the pepper beer to end all pepper beers. If pepper beers was it’s own style on this great website, and not mixed in with pumpkin beers, and cabbage beers, and beers with Cumin and Rosemary, it would likely be slotted in as my favorite style. Always loved a beer that executes the peppers perfectly, and this is a damn good example. Dark porter brown pour with a short lived fizz head. A smokey malt aroma. Big campfire going on. Pepper doesn’t hit you right away. A peat like front, with a smokey barbecue like constant. The pepper heat sneaks in late, and hangs out for a while, and makes me want to drink more. Not as hot as I expected it to be. Honestly, it could have used a little more heat. I’d have no problem enjoying a pint of this beer. Excellent work to all involved here. Loved it.
