Charred beef, soy sauce, smoke aroma. Black with a thin brown head, good lacing . Smoky prunes, soot and charcoal. Finishes with tobacco, charcoal, and ash. Upon warming, horehound and hoppier notes appear bringing everything into much better balance. Medium body. Big and roasty, alcohol is moderately concealed. Pronounced malt bitterness.

This kills the dark horizon I just had. Heavy aroma of coffee and smoked and roasted malt. Pours pitch black with decent head, good lacing. This is properly done with good consistency. I love the musk and the booze is hidden well. I’ll definitely look for this again. On tap at Blue Monk.
