The Clock Red Craft Ale was the first Eden Mill ale to be brewed at St Andrews. Locals demanded that the old clock on ’The Mill’ wall kept ticking when we started brewing. So we named the beer out of respect for them and the clock. It’s beer o’clock so let’s raise a glass to them all and to the tradition of brewing at St Andrews. The Clock red craft ale is a traditional ale with a historic tone. We wanted to create a beer reminiscent of the beer that would have been drunk at the time of the Seggie distillery. Amber in colour, this pale malt beer is our take on a traditional Scottish red ale. It’s a hoppy brew with hints of pepperiness the sweetness of caramel from our dark crystal malt. We know you’ll enjoy.

Cask at the Guildford Arms. It pours clear mahogany brown with a decent light tan head. The nose is woody, varnish, leather, dried fruits and candy. The taste is earthy, wood, twig, leather, brown bread and spicy bitterness with a dry finish. Light-medium and fine carbonation. A bit thin and twiggy...

Red brown colour. Quite gassy straight from the bottle but soon settles down. Strong malty aroma. Flavour also has strong roasted malt with some cocoa. Nice bitter, dry finish. Lingering aftertaste.

Clear red beer with a thin beige head. Sour malt aroma. Flavour initially seemed a touch watery but it comes into it’s own a bit after a mouthful or two. The hops come through more in the aftertaste and by the halfway mark I was rather enjoying it.

33cl bottle. Pours dark amber with a nice thin head. The nose has chocolate biscuits and some red fruit. The taste has light chocolate and fruit intermingled. The palate has a medium structure with a tangy middle section and a nice crunchy finish. A good ale somewhere between a mild and a bitter.
