On tap at the Petrol Station. Pours a dark amber with a small off white head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is smoke peat and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a very dry medicine flavor like chloraseptic. Not much going on with this one.

Burned plastic and smoke on the nose. Mahogany, thick tan head, good lacing. Smoke and sweet cherry flavor, approaching roasted figs. Not really recognizable as a weizen doppelbock, devoid of typical wheat characteristics. Nothing like Vitus or Aventinus. When viewed as simply a smoked doppelbock, it is pretty decent.

Pours milky brown into a Sam glass. Off-white head with no retention quickly recedes to hug rim. Smoke aromas. Sweet smoke and pit fruit from front to back. Becomes cloying as it warms.

Tap @ Freshcraft, Denver. Pours dark reddish brwon with a light brown head. Aroma of wheat, banana, fruit, smoke. Taste is Wheat, dark fruit, banana, oak, peat / smoke, green fruit or tea, some tartness ( maybe from the tea) abit of alchohol. Full creamy body, low carbonation. Different and enjoyable take on a hefe, I like this. 130311

On draught at Bodega.This beer is a murky reddish brown color with a thin light beige head that diminishes to an outer ring quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of smoked ham and malt. Medium body with an over the top smoked meat character with strange undercurrent of green tea and dark fruit. The finish is peaty malt and more ham. All in all this beer is "directionally challenged", and none of the directions are promising.
