Bomber bottle purchased at the Palma Real for about a dollar. Listed at 4.3% My quest to try every Dominican beer is not going to end during this stay, but I?m having a lot of fun trying. Even if the beer is less than great like this one. Pours a light pale gold with with thin bubble head. Extremely corny aroma and flavor. Tastes like liquid tortilla chips, which really makes me want nachos. This beer should come with a side of queso. Could be worse, but it?s ranked near the bottom with its local competition. All things considered, it?s hot, it?s humid, I was still able to kill this bottle with little trouble. Nachos are hard to find in the DR.

Truly foul. And here I was drinking Bohemia especial at the beach yesterday thinking it was bad. I’d be surprised if even the Quisqueya extra or normal is worse than this. Like a sour dishrag a Dominican used to clean their ballsack with. (that aroma comparison is an approximation, at best). Anyway, I walked around all day trying to find the normal Quisqueya without luck, and now I’m glad I didn’t find it. I can only imagine what the Soberana is like. It almost sours my taste for the tropics. Drank from a big bottle ’cooled’ in a sink of lukewarm water because the hotel fridge didn’t work in Santo Domingo. Pa’lante!
