I am always on the outlook for a new quadrupel, my preferred style, and managed to locate a 750 ml bottle of Quad Radical. This one checks off a couple of additional boxes making it only more attractive, oak aging and fruit soaked in rum. I pull out out the Teku glass for this one because an unusual beer speaks for a different glass. The pour gives a dark mahogany liquid followed by a lingering parchment colored head. I pick up for the scent, ripe dark fruit and perhaps a glimmer of booze. I continue with a drink, yes, this is complex. There are figs, currants, chocolate, sorghum and intrusion by the alcohol. Rich and thick. Not a classic quad but something interesting and very good.
