I've held this beer a long time thinking it would get rated by someone sometime. Hasn't happened, time to move along. Obtained early this year at the Cellar in Odessa, TX, now is the time for a rating. I open the 22 oz bottle and pour into my New Belgium snifter. It is the expected Clown Shoes jet black liquid with a healthy head of medium brown foam. A good nose, chocolate, berry and a hint of ash. I tilt the glass for a drink. Dark bread, charcoal (from the scotch barrels?), dark chocolate and and just a bit of sweetness. This will not be my favorite CS imperial stout ever but the bottle will not go to waste.
