Cask @ Fuller’s King’s Cross. Pours dark brown, with thin head. Sour aroma, thin watery texture, not much flavour. Disappointing

Dark brown colour. Some dark malts. Quite sweet and fruity with some toffee and perhaps a bit of spice lingering in the background.

On cask at Greyhound Inn, Coventry - Muddy brown body, white lacing head. A bit tart on the nose, oranges and mandarins, a bit of bubblegum too. A decent rich mouthful of roasted malts, fennel and oranges once more. Lasting finish, a little on the bitter side.

On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours a dark amber brown with a decent head and a slight haze. The nose has a little spice along with expected biscuits and some toffee. The taste has more biscuits and toffee with some of the spice again, which I associate with rye. The palate is medium bodied with a creamy elegant texture and an easy drinking finish. Overall, a good session ale and would probably have a second but beyond that .........
