[Cask at the William Robert Loosley (JDW), High Wycombe] Gold, thin white head. Tropical fruits up front, with lemon increasing as you drink more. Sweet, but plenty enough hops to balance it making it pleasingly refreshing. Recently I said that Banks only seemed to produce good beers under the guidance of the Wetherspoons guest brewers - I now take this back, they have produced a decent beer all by themselves! c4

Pint, hand-pulled at my local Spoonโs in Wellington. Deep golden body with a full, sturdy white head of bubbles on top, the head produced some good lacing as the beer level fell in the UK sleeve it was poured into. A bit too much citrus fruit for me: smell and taste both refreshing in nature but not enough malt presence for my liking: a summer brew, not a beer to have in the middle of March in the UK.

Cask @ JDW Inverness 250312
Straw yellow, clear, dense thin white head, good lacing.
Aroma of soft citrus fruits, orange, but of grapefruit, light sweet malts.
Taste of golden sweet pale malts, grassy bit metallic hops, light citrus, not sure about this
Palate - soft carb, soft soapy mouthfeel, thin to medium body...some viscosity. Finish - bitter, bit grassy biscuity bitterness, dryish, bit metallic
Overall - OK Golden Ale....not great

Cask at the Tilly Shilling (JDW), Farnborough. Straw with a thin white head; citrus aroma; a simple lemony citrus flavour with a grainy body; the a light and shortlived grapefruit bitterness to finish. Rather one-dimensional, but otherwise a reason golden ale.

On tap at the Meadow, Coalbrookdale, Shropshire. Pours golden with not much bubbles and a decent head, some of which hangs around. The nose has honey and malt. The taste has grapefruit, malt and honey. The palate has a medium body and texture and almost, but not quite, a clean finish. Overall, a decent session ale, quite fruity but thereโs an undesirable malt overhang on the finish which grows as the pint goes down.
