Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, chocolate, butter - milk notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120504] 5-3-7-3-13 Cask (handpump) @ Salford Arms Hotel, 146 Chapel Street, Salford, Manchester, England M3 6AF.Clear dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, sweet dark malt, roasted. Cask at the 14th Egham Beer Festival at the EUSC, 28/03/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a thinnish beige head that clears to the edge and forms a film. Nose is dark fruits, raisens, dark malt, toffee, touch of spice. Taste comprises dark malts, molasses, raisens, dark fruits, hint of chocolate. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fruity finish. Ok stuff.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Very deep amber colour with a small beige head. Aroma is fruity, caramelly, roasted and some mild ashy notes as well. Flavour is vanilla, roasted malts, some floral and liquorice notes too. Balanced. Some ashyness towards the finish.

cask at bow bar ... brown ... thin white head ... soft sweet mellow toffee nose ... dull roast malt .. little thin ... soft toffee not much going on ... shame
