tap at the Indy brewpub - Pours black with minimal head. The aroma is of malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with lots of chocolate and a bit of roast character. There's some alcohol noticeable but like the other flavors not as much as I expected. It tastes pretty good, not a bad beer by any means, but I'm honestly puzzled by this one. I expected an imperial stout given the eisbock treatment to be super intense, to really kick me in the teeth with flavors. It doesn't. I don't know if it's me and I'd think differently on a different day, or if this batch is odd, or what. As usual I've tried to rate it for what it is, the old RB approach of forget the style, how much did you like it? If I rated based on my expectations it would be lower.
