Pours amber with a one finger head. The aroma is toasted caramel and grainy malt and a little hop resin. The flavor is mainly the same grainy, toasted malt as the Deadly Brewing Hazy IPA (also brewed by Carlowe). There’s light, mildly bitter hops. It’s weird to call this beer an IPA and the description on the label claiming it’s big on the hoppy characteristics seems just plain wrong. What are they doing here? This and the “deadly brewing” IPAs in the Aldi’s Advent calendar are both Carlowe and are similar.
