A style developed by brewers in the late 20th century to compete with the pale ale market, our golden ale is a refreshing and complex version, ideal as a session ale. It has deep flavour characteristics but is light and is high in aroma hops.

500ml bottle. Gold amber colour, white foam head and fruity malt mash aroma. Taste is biscuity malt with some citrus & earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, light bodied, medium carbonation. OK.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Common London Beer Festival July 2013 - Le Gothique. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Some spicy grains in the nose, bready malts. Medium sweet flavor with some sugary mandarin orange, low bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with more sugary orange, bready pale malts. Simple. (July 2013, Score: 3.2)

Bottle at home in London - sourced from London Beer. Pours clear, bright gold, lightly effervescent, with a frothy white head. The aroma holds grainy pale malts, light biscuits, cereal, suggestions of ripe lemon. Medium sweet flavor with bready, lightly doughy pale malts, mild bitter grain husk, hay. Light in body with fine carbonation; pretty good condition. Finishes sweet with a little bit of sickly sugar aspect, some mellow bitter grains, hay, slight biscuits, impressions of citrusy hops. 500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Floral hop aroma, a touch of husk and lemon. Taste is floral hoppy, fruity notes of lemon, gooseberry, lychee, bitter hoppy overtones; light body.

Cask (gravity) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear medium yllow - amber orange color with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, sweet malt, light moderate hoppy, citrus - grass, UK hops, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, UK hops, UK yeast notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121205]

Bottled (from AbM). Golden colour, small white head, which lasts for quite some time though. Flavour is fruity, mild grassy and breay notes. Flavour is bready malts, mild citrus, grass and some floral and wooden notes as well. A bit thin as for the palate, but otherwise decent.

Bottle 0.5l (via alesbymail). Colour is clear golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Floral, fruits, grass, nice hoppiness and some malts. Very light but nicely fresh. Good golden ale.

Cask @ Pembury Tavern, Hackney E8. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty weak hoppy aroma. Fruity malty weak citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty weak hoppy citrus finish.

Bottle. Creamy white excellent fully lasting head. Yellow colour. Light nmalty and heavu hoppy wonderfull aroma. Heavy bitter great flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. fantastic golden.
