A style developed by brewers in the late 20th century to compete with the pale ale market, our golden ale is a refreshing and complex version, ideal as a session ale. It has deep flavour characteristics but is light and is high in aroma hops.

(Cask at Craft Beer Islington, London, 23 April 2016) Pale golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of peaches, bread, grass and stewed fruit. Malty, fruity taste with bread, peaches, pears, tropical fruit and a gentle bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Fruity and refreshing, but hardly exciting. Quite enjoyable.

Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Pale amber with a bright white head; sweet spicy aroma; light grassy bitterness with a sweet honeyed body; and a clean, slightly medicinal finish. An OK golden ale.

Had this in bottle at End of The Road Festival, Thursday 28th August 2014 Not sure that I’ve had this before, but for one it isn’t gold, secondly, it has possibly got a very ’slight’ infection, this comes across more in the mouth than the nose. Some toffee, fruity a little sharpness, amber in colour. Ok A6 A3 T5 P3 Ov11 2.8

Gravity dispense at the LBA fest at Le Gothique, 24/07/14. Lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white head formed of bubbles. Nose is papaya, melon, straw, earthy hop rinse, tangerine. Taste comprises earthy citrics, grass, lemon peel, orange pith, apricot jam, bread dough. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light hop bitterness in the close. Decent enough GB, better conditioning and I reckon this would easily hit 3.3.

Cask at The Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a pale golden colour with a rocky, white head. Aroma of apricot, caramel and citrus hop. Soft fruit flavours with straw and grapefruit. Palate was mellow bitter hop, bready malt and candy sugar.

New brewery tick! Clear golden color, small white head, some lace. Buttery, grainy aroma with some citrus hoppyness. Light to medium bodied, slightly watery palate. Nice bready hoppyness, citrus in the finish. Slightly buttery. Almost like a Czech pils although is an ale.

Cask handpull at Parcel Yard Kings Cross. It’s got some yeast character. Some ok hop on finish. A decent malty yeasty hoppy golden ale. Oh sorry we used to call that a bitter. Decent
