Bottle @ The 4th Annual Fastelavns-Smagning Ulfborg, 2013. Pours clear amber with a small white head. Caramel, cardemum and div. spices. Good maltyness and a bit of hops beneath - some notes of peach. Medium bodied.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy amber with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 160213

Bottle. Clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, christmas spices and dark fruits. Flavour is malt, yeast, christmas spices, medium sweet, little over carbonated, hop, berries and a little bitter.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown to orange with a small off white head. Aroma is fruity, light toasted and spiced. Toasted malty, nutmeg like, cinnemon and cardemomme. Bitter, spiced and medium dry toasted malty finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, xmas spices, vegetables, malt and hops.

Bottle. It pours a clear, chestnut colored body and a nice, dense, off-white head. The aroma has a faint roasted note, as well as nuts, caramel and a hint of dried fruits. There’s not much spice aromas or flavors, which puzzles me a bit, I remember to have read there should be. Anyway, it’s a quite tasteful beer, at least considering the low ABV. Caramel, nuts, dried figs and apricots, a hint of yeast and roasted malts, and some balancing bitterness. It’s quite dry on the palate, with good carbonation. Medium to full body. The finish has something resembling cardamom, as well as the flavors found initially. Overall, a very nice grocery store strength Christmas beer, glad I found some more bottles of it.

Correction: The yeast and cardamom aroma came from my bun baking activity, not from the beer. How silly is that... 130129

500 ml bottle. A nice amber body with a big beige head. Pleasant malt aroma with just a faint hint of spices and yeast. Not a strong aroma at all but it feels pleasant and gives certain expectations. As expected no strong flavors here, but a really fine balance in flavors. It feels refreshing with fruit, malt, some brown sugar and yeast. The balance, the brown sugar and the fruity yeast gives me a feeling of a Belgium inspired brown ale. Medium body and pleasant in aftertaste as well. A really nice seasonally beer at grosery strength. A big improvement.

Flaske 0,5l fra ICA Stakkevollan. Drukket hjemme 5 Des 12. Dyp rødbrun. Veldig høyt skum som varer lenge. Litt uklar. God, litt krydret aroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er julens krydder. Et forsiktig julepreg. Harmonisk. Blir kanskje vel søtt - men det er et veldig bra butikkstyrkeøl. KI=10!
