The little brother of Ylir, very similar, but a bit milder.

Bottle shared with Veitafan at Flmsbrygga, Flm. The colour is brown and is slightly hazy with a big compact light beige head. The aroma is pretty fruity with leather, caramel, dried fruit and hint of berries. Feels not far from a british premium bitter. Light flavours of more leather, oak, roasted malt and a hint of smoke. Is a bit dry in the end. Has a light and slick mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. A very nice beer which is surprisingly tasty for being a more lightweighter ale. One of a kind, and a great Christmas beer.

50cl bottle from Meny Løren. Pours slightly hazy brown/amber with off-white to beige head. Spicy aroma with anise, malt, caramel, some fruity notes and hints of chocolate and thyme. Medium body. Sweet and spicy with caramel and malt and a lightly dry and lightly bitter finish. Short and spicy aftertaste. Fairly decent Christmas beer at this alcohol strength.

0.5l bottle. This is a deep dark plum-brown one with a nice medium sized light chocolate-brown top. On the nose there is traces of some spices. I pick up cloves, nuts, chocolate and something softly perfume like. It's perhaps a bit thin on the mouthfeel with a nice small bubbly average carbonation level. The taste is pretty nice! Much more interesting than the previous version. Nuts, chocolate, star anise and ginger. Somewhat on the sweet side also. Ends with a lasting chocolate-paper aftertaste. This was a nice little surprise as my expectations were not sky high. Tasty, and I think this has to be one of the best 4.7% abv beers I've had for quite some time! 03.11.2012
