Formerly an Allsopps/Calders brand, although it is not known whether the current version bears any similarity to the original beer. The brand ultimately came under the ownership of Carlsberg following a series of takeovers and mergers. Believed to be brewed at Belhaven. No known connection with the Rose Street Brewery pub (and former brewpub) in Edinburgh.

alla spina ambrata poca schiuma non persitente dal nome ti aspettersti malto luppolo e un certo corpo ma sembra una birra annacquata se non nel grado alcolico

33 cL bottle in Fiumicino airport, Rome. Pours clear and golden orange with a dense off-white head. Aroma is malt driven and with a mild caramel note. Light acidic touch with a presence of alcohol. Flavour is dry malty, minor caramel touch, and with a light bitterness. Solid alcohol presence beneath. Ends warming and solid alcohol flavoured. Light sweet malt flavour before the finish and a light growing bitterness into the finish. Somewhat too alcohol flavoured for my liking.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pale amber with a small, creamy off-white head. Lightly roasted, caramelish aroma. Somewhat unpleasant potent body with the alcohol shining through. Vague notes of alcohol. Dry, hoppy finish. 221005

An amber beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, fruit, and caramel, while the flavor is sweet alcoholic combined with notes of metal and hints of wood, leading to an alcoholic end. Too alcoholic for me.

Light amber color. Light aroma, quite strong body, rather sweet, correctly balanced at the end. An acceptable Strong Lager.
