Breakfast is back, and this time it's better than a stack of flapjacks...it’s a beer! Ol’ Smoked Stack spent 6 months in 2nd use Bourbon barrels with gallons of real maple syrup. First and foremost this beer is a full bodied imperial porter with notes of cocoa & dark chocolate. But there’s also rich maple notes with just a touch of spice and a subtle smokiness from the Weyermann Oak-Smoked malt. Grab a stack, breakfast is back!

Dark brown. Thin head. Aroma is maple forward, with lots of dark chocolate and some vanilla in there as well. On the palate, it's lighter than expected. Still quite sweet, but these flavours and sweetness work better at bigger sizes. But it's still good, especially where the roasty and dark chocolate malts meet the maple. I don't actually find this all that smokey, mind you.
