Bottle shared by Marcus. Bottle gushed lightly, bright dark copper pour has tiny flakes. Smooth sour oak cherry aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is subtle boubon mixed with rather sour cherry. It’s just a tad sweet, but not enough to go sweet/tart. Not a trace of heat. Quite delicious.

Bottle courtesy of tkrjukoff. Pours hazy deep orange with a rather small frothy off-white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly sweet, sour and slightly fruity with sweet bread, vanilla fudge, buttery charred wood, cherries, almonds, alcohol, lemon juice, yuzu juice, peaches, moist hay and dry soil. Taste is slightly sweet, sour, tiny malty and fruity with sweet bread, vanilla fudge, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, charred wood, toasted coconut, cherries, caramelized almonds, hay, dried apricots and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, tart, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sour, tiny malty and fruity with bread, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, charred wood, caramelized almonds, dried apricots, hay, cherries, bourbon and lemon zest. Heavy bourbon barrel character which adds some interesting complexity... --- Beer merged from original tick of Manhattan NW on 12 Jul 2015 at 00:31 - Score: 7

Sample at Kurtkeller 006: Cascade-tastic 01 on 02/21/2014. Pours a clear Rosé wine color with a thin white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of cherries, oak and vanilla. Full-bodied with a mildly boozy character and flavors of tart cherries, caramel malt, Hawaiian Punch and yeast. The finish is lightly sour with a cherry and yeast aftertaste. Good beer all around.

750ml bottle shared by jlruthven. Very pleasant cherry. Amber-orange body. Interesting pronounced cherry flavors...almost like Maraschino. Non-traditional, really captures some mixed drink flavors surprisingly. Somewhat boozy, but still really enjoyable.

Bottle share at the Kernel. Thanks to Paul for this one. Aroma is horsey, armpit, light tart cherry. Brown orange colour with persistent losse white head, with a light haze. Flavour is nice approachable tart, apple, cherry skin. Hides the alcohol really well. Tastes at most 7%. Light acidic notes in the finish, but well rounded.Very nice spritzy carbonation.

Sean, my buddy in TN sent me a bottle and then I went to Portland and bought 2 more! Enjoyed at 45F split 2-ways with the GF in stemmed glasses.

A - Head is fizzy and effervescent and fades quickly. it’s a murky / cloudy beer wit a few seeds and pieces floating around at the bottom. Blood red is probably too severe. More of a pink cherry color.

S - obviously, lots of cherry on the nose. There’s a sweetness that reminds me of a candied apple. I get lots of bourbon on the nose..very obviously there.

T - A very sweet beer, total candied cherries taste. Bourbon finish. Vanilla, coconut and oak obviously. Then there’s the floral hibiscus sweetness and honeysuckle sort of things going on. It’s insanely complex and very much a sweet and less boozy version of a classic manhattan.

M - Big, bubbly and bright

O - Not my favorite cascade beer but an A for complexity!
