Bottle split at the Kernel, huge thanks to Paul my favourite person from BrackBristol, 09/11/13. Murky orange amber with a moderate light beige covering, carbonation evident as bubbles dance atop the glass. Nose is smoke cherry dipped straw, light medicinals/TCP, dank straw, earthy, light dry rot notes, tarte fruit skins, barnyard, light booze waft but not 11%+ ! Taste comprises burnt straw, light smoke, tarte cherry skins, cherry sherbet, earthy. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, light oaky cherry dankness and a lick of booze as the garage door pulls shut. Very decent sour, the 11% is epxertly integrated, you’d think you were on a 7 or 8% offering. Top stuff!

Bottle shared at The Kernel, London - many thanks to Paul U. Pours hazy grapefruit pink with a foamy, white head. The nose has dry and funky berries, some cherries. Light to medium sweet flavor, mildly acetic, some cherry pit bitterness, light sour burn, tangy berries. Medium bodied with average, spritzy carbonation. Dry and tangy to finish with more vibrant cherries now. Juicy, lightly jammy. Really good. I found it more drinkable than some of Cascade’s other beastly sours.

Bottle thanks to Paul Unwin. It pours hazy reddish-amber with a small beige head. The nose is sweet-sour, balsamic, bourbon, vanilla, toasted coconut, cherry skin, damp wood and leaf. The taste is sour, tangy, cherry, moderate acidity, mouth-puckering tartness, sherbet, red grape skin, parma violets, alcohol kick and residual sweetness with a tart finish. Medium body, prickly carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Strong, but rather tasty. Another good sour from Cascade.

750 from the brewery. Pours a murky reddish color with a medium white head. Big fruity nose with sawdust and sour lacto. I don’t get tons of bourbon, but more woody sour apricot and cherry, some sweet nuttiness, toffee. Very good as usual for Cascade sours.

Bottle. Pours a hazy pink with minimal head. Aromas are strong with big funky berries, tart pie cherries, peppery, fruity, mild alcohol, light barrel. Flavors are tart and cleanly acidic, pie cherry, medium acidity. A bit zesty in the finish. Low tannin.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy orange amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has bourbon, cherries, and tart fruits. Flavour brings out pungent cherries, followed by bourbon barrels, almost a hint of rum, and medium tartness. Very complex. The bourbon wonderfully accentuates the cherries. ABV isn't noticeable at all. Great stuff.

Sample at the Barrel House. Pours a clear Rosé wine color with a thin white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of cherries, oak and vanilla. Full-bodied with a midlly boozy character and flavors of tart cherries, caramel malt, Hawaiian Punch and yeast. The finish is lightly sour with a cherry and yeast aftertaste. Comes perilously close to becoming a mess but it works for me, enjoyable beer.

Bottle shared at the epic AZ crew’s driveway tasting. This was 11.32%? quite drinkable for that abv. nose of cherries and some lactic tartness. tastes of lots of cherries, some general fruit punch, grass, floral, maybe some cough syrup, woody and little sourness. touch of bourbon sweetness on finish. i quite enjoyed thanks fellas
