Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 8/7/2013. Opaque black with a slight tan head. Plain chocolate and roasted malts, a suggestion of liquorice and dryish, toasty finish. Very good.

Cask (handpump) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, dry, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120505]

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Black colour, minor head. Aroma is toffee, fruits, mild roast as well as some toasted and liquorice notes. Flavour is fruity, roasted, mildly leathery and nutty. Also some mild smoked wooden notes.
