Handpull cask from the Three Cups, Bedford. Dark brown, translucent, flat. Chocolate, soy and balsamic vinegar. Taste is a sweet/sour, might be a little past its best. Some liquorice on the finish. Flat-as-a-pancake body. The condition is questionable but the beer itself is poor as well.

500ml bottle from the Valley Bar, Scarborough. Pours clear dark brown, red hue. Aromas of prunes, dark stone fruit, faint chocolate. Taste is more prunes, near cherry. Very fruity. Tannins on the finish.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark brown to plum with a neat thin head. Nice red hue around the bottom of the glass. Nose - chocolate and toffee with a bit of prunes. Taste - plums or cherries, actually marzipan coming through. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced finish. Overall - like this. No chocolate or roast but delicious.

On cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Really enjoyed this! Rich teak body, beige head, looked like my dad’s suit in the 70s. Nose was a classic mix of coffee, roasted malts and nuts, and dark chocolate. Taste was smooth, great mouthfeel, good finish that was neither too bitter or too sweet. Like I said, enjoyed this.

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly light tan head. The aroma is ripe red berry fruit, roasted malt. The flavour is light bitter light sweet with a light watery malt, light smoke palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Way too light all round for me but not a bad beer all the same.

Cask (Quakerhouse, Darlington) - Very dark brown, almost black, with some red tinges when held to the light. Coffee and roasted malt in the aroma. Roasted and fairly smooth taste with coffee, cocoa and raisins detected.
