Aroma is somewhat light with resin, some vanilla, porridge and hints of fruits. Flavour is rather rich on resin. Also licorice, hops and some ash. A black IPA high on hops, reminds me of Amager Double Black IPA – but this one isn’t that aggressive.

BBE 2013-04-30 - Pours dark brown, almost black with a small white head. Aroma of grassy hops, grainy malts, hints of fruits and roastiness. Taste is grainy and malty with hints of roastiness and fruity hops. Finish is malty and grainy with some fruity hops. Okay, a bit unbalanced black IPA. Too grainy and malty.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. BB 2013-04-30, sampled on October 4, 2012.Very dark brown color, medium sized, dense, lasting light brown head. Hoppy, herbal, citrus, roasted, chocolate scent. Hoppy, bitter, a little bit sweet, not much balanced taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, though I feel it lacks some co2. Roasted and bitter aftertaste. High bitterness. Almost have a chili sensation to it too, right at the end of my throat when I swallow it.

Medium brown head. Opaque black body goes deep dark red at edges. Dense fruity alcoholic roasty aroma with earthy chocolatey notes. Impressive harmony. Dry-sweet roasty earthy fruity taste with perfumy red berry chocolate notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish earthy gooseberry aftertaste with roasty chocolatey dusty fruity notes. Lovely. Amazingly harmonic and seductively smooth. A great beer. (0.33l bottle, Systembolaget, Nordstan, Göteborg.)

Väldigt gott. Frisk humle som möter en mörkare malt som ger kraftig smak av choklad. En trevlig beska med smak av kåda och tall som ligger kvar länge i gommen. Tycker dock det är svårt med benämningen Black IPA. Detta kunde lika väl vara en humlad porter, eller? Väldigt gott var det i alla fall.

330ml Bottle - Black with a tan head. Liquorice, plain chocolate, pine and soapy hops in the aroma. Roasted and hoppy taste with notes of bitter plain chocolate, liquorice and soapy hops. More roasted than many beers of this type, but that’s not a criticism.

Bottle from SB cons 2012-09-15 Göteborg AR: pine, dried apricots, wee roasted malt AP: pitch black with à ruby rim, wow (again) 5 cm thick stout dirty brown lasting, the curtains are massive - can’t look through! F: roasted malt, coffey, pine, wee dried apricots, grape fruit, medium bitterness, medium carbonation - soft wee bubbles, finish roasted malt, bitterness
