Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.

Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

GBBF. Light haze on this amber beer, residual white head. Light dry palate with a sting from the fine carbonation. Toffee caramel malts. Slightly sour red fruits with some fresh hop sting. Finishes dry with red berry fruits coming to the fore and a trace of bubblegum ester.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks kerenmk. Amber-colored. Fruity aroma of carambola and pear. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt with flowers, fruits and a mildly bitter and hoppy finish. Medium-bodied.

Location: Draft at RnH, 2/19/11

Aroma: This one has a light hop and caramel nose
Appearance: It pours a clear caramel color
Flavor: Similar to the nose with a lingering slightly metallic bitterness
Palate: The mouthfeel isn't great, fairly light body, some diacetyl
Overall Impression: You won't be particularly impressed by this one. The flavor is alright, nothing special in the style, and it is slightly off texture-wise. It is on the low end of decent.

one of the original east-coast pale ales that take from english-style pales and add just a little more hop aroma and a little less malty flavor. crisp, clean, and so enjoyable, a true east coast treasure that is the first step for a lot of people on their hop journey.

Bottle at the National Museum of the American Indian, believe it or not. Deep amber color, small white head, good lacing. Aroma and flavor of caramel and malt. Great body for a pale ale. Simple and straightforward flavor, a cut above others in the style.

Really didn’t do much for me. Not very pale, or fruity, or complex...did I miss something? Eh, I tried other Geary’s that were much better.
