Our flagship pale is a classic British pale ale with a nod to the legendary beers of Burton-on-Trent. Copper-colored, dry, clean and crisp with lots of late hope taste in an appetizing complex with ale fruitiness from imported Hampshire yeast.

Ingredients: Two row English malt (pale, crystal and chocolate); Cascade, Mt Hood, Tettnang and Fuggle Hops.

Bottle from Beer52 at 5.2%. Copper coloured with a thin off-white head and a very light fizz. Up front it's all caramel and minerals and a little cardboard; not a promising start. Gets better as you drink more; Cheerios and a little orange come through. The flavour's still nothing to write home about though. On the plus side it's got a nice rich mouthfeel. Overall drinkable but not great.

12 fl oz bottle (5.2% ABV); BB 1st Mar 2020. Drank at home on 14th May 2019. Liked it. Amber with a copper hue, white crown. Semi-sweet malty molasses and orchard fruits in both the aroma and taste, nice.

12 ounce bottle. Bright amber orange with a small bubbly beige head. Faint toasted malt nose. Dry firm toasted malt flavor upfront. Slightly citrus fruit hops in middle with spicy bitterness. Finishes dry and crisp with some astringency. Very British in character.

Purchased in their mixed pack on a trip to Maine. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a frothy warm cap, decent retention and nice lacing. Mild cereal grain malts with what seems adjuncts. Grainy taste with a little hops. OK, but not the best pale ale.

Tap at a bar in Boothbay. Run of the mill pale ale. Dry herbal hops and doughy malt flavor. Its not.

12oz bottle from a Hannaford Supermarket in Kennebunk, ME. Amber with a thin off-white head; malty aroma; malty taste with a touch of caramel and estery fruit; and a biscuity finish. Fairly close to the Burton style - well Bass at least.

The appearance was a dark amber with a lighter foam and a small lacing around the edges. It had a darker malty smell. The taste had a slight malt along with a slight sweetness, slightly mild and balanced. The palate was about a medium feel. It had a good smoothness to it. Overall, this was a good beer that I might come back to.

12 oz bottle. Pint shows a nearly clear amber, very thin white head no retention. Nose is flowery hops, and weak bready notes. Flavor is weak, with biscuit malt coming through with a rather generic hop bitterness. Finish lingers on to develop into a metallic note. No date code but it was next to other fresh Geary’s products. Honestly if you are going to buy a Geary’s brew, walk past this and grab the Hampshire Special. This was like a water down version of that English Strong Ale.
