Bottle from Alex. Huge fresh hop nose, grassy, light brown with orange color and a pretty lace. Sweet and resinous, somewhay syrupy with pine and enormous bitterness. Very earthy, much like an American BW. Don’t feel the 13% alcohol. Very interesting and enjoyable.

Bottle courtesy of Alex420, grazie a Lei! Clear deep amber color, thick cream colored head with good retention and solid lacing - a beutiful beer. Aroma is sweet pine and caramel. Taste is sweet, malty pine resin. Straightforward stuff.

Brotiger Antrunk, süß, etwas alkoholisch. Unausgewogen, die nur geringe Süße verdrängt den Hopfen. Weich, der beste Part ist der mittellange Nachgeschmack. 7/7/8/9/9/7

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours tiny hazy copper with a small frothy offwhite head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is intense, sweet and hoppy with caramel, grapefruit rinds, caramel, alcohol, oily pine, moist tobacco, sweet white bread, golden syrup and alcohol. Taste is very sweet and bitter with caramel, alcohol, grapefruit rinds, pine needles, resinous wood, golden syrup, sweet bread, resinous wood and toffee. Mouthfeel is round, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with caramel, resinous wood, grapefruit rinds, pine needles, dried apricots and hints of golden syrup, grass and sweet bread. Way too boozy and unbalanced...

Craft Clarkenwell. A sample bottle generously shared by Frederic and Tom - cheers guys! Clear amber beer, no real head. Smooth palate, a little crisp. Rich barleywine style malts. Rich and creamy. Great marmalade hops with resinous grapefruit and lemon. Mild lactose. Smooth dry finish. Slight gum numb. Comes over like a well dry hopped barleywine.

33cl Bottle from the man himself, cheers Alex! Clear reddish amber colour, creamy off-white head. Aroma of a whiff of blue cheese first, then lovely sweet malts, light citrus hops, grass, raisins, red fruits, bubblegum. Flavour is quite sweet but kept in check, very malty, raisins, red fruits, caramel, nice earthy liquorice root, great creamy grassy hoppy bitter finish. Fullbodied, smooth, fabulous beer, imho a great take on an English barley wine with "a little" extra hops. Excellent.

02/11/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap). Ambrata, leggermente torbida, schiuma leggera. Double IPA estrema. Not my cup of tea.
