From 2007 notes. +++ Sampled on draft a the brewpub this beer poured a medium amber color with a small white head. The aroma was sweet and malty with a hint of vague fruits. The flavor was sweet and malty with hints of molasses and vague fruits. Short finish. Smooth.

Sweet smelling and the aroma of beer. Tan like iced tea. Has a decent size alabaster head. Very nice non offensive initial flavor. Easy and well behaved, has that Scottish gentleman courtesy. This beer seems to have more carbonation than the rest of the H&H beers I’ve tasted, a welcomed addition. Many of the good qualities of a session beer. Barely taste any alcohol, it is well hidden. Of course it is a low alky beer, nice for a change. Friendly easy and fun. Has a slight amount of malt bitterness building on the back of the palate. This is one of the better Scottish ales, nearly ranks right up there with East Ens Old Hickory. IMHO much better than the likes of McEwans and Three Floyyd Robert the Bruce!
