11/10/2020. Cask at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Havenstreet. Pours almost black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, toffee, vanilla and dark fruits. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Moderate body, smooth texture, soft carbonation. Nice roasty finish. Enjoyable.

Hand-pulled pint at The Pheasant Inn, Wellington Shropshire on 31st Aug 2020. Black bodied, creamy tanned head. Coffee and dark chocolate in both the aroma and slick taste, this is a smooth and fairly rich, malty Stout and very 'drinkable'.

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby Blackcurrant, liquorice and malts in the nose. Pours almost black with a small cream head. In the mouth there is liquorice, plus cherries and raspberries, but is a bit sharp on the tongue. Sharpness persists in the finish, together with liquorice. Nice, but not a world-beater.

Cask @ Young Pretender, Congleton. Pours black, good creamy tan head. Aroma has strong coffee, chocolate, roast. Creamy on the palate, good rich coffee, roast and general mocha character with a pleasing underling sweetness. Great condition. Excellent.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol, 7/2/2017. Near black in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of toasted porridge oats, with some plain chocolate and dark liquorice. Flavour had more chocolate, and a hint of coffee, before a dryish, slightly creamy, finish. Enjoyable.

Gravity cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. A glossy black pour with a loose beige head; oatmeal aroma; dry and smooth in the mouth with an oatmeal body and some caramel; then a dry finish with some toffee. Very easy drinking.

Really clean. Charcoal. Coffee. Espresso. Would call this a mild hybrid. Lots of pleasant light-roasted flavours.
