Delicious malty, caramel and liquorice flavours combine wonderfully in a smooth drinking velvety, oatmeal stout with a freshly roasted coffee and toffee finish.

Handpull cask at the Crossing, Burton-on-Trent. Darkest brown/black with a sizable light brown head. Sweet latte and liquorice aroma. Taste is equally sweet, with chewy caramel and chocolate notes, but it feels a bit artificial. Silky palate and a long finish, with salted caramel on the aftertaste. Good all in all but too sweet for the likes of me.

Bottle at home in London - picked up in London somewhere. Pours deep brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds creamy milk chocolate, burnt toast, coffee grounds. Medium sweet flavour with more milk chocolate, chalky cocoa, some earthy bitterness, day-old coffee. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with more milk chocolate, light roast, mocha. Not bad overall.

Black colour, dissipating white head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and coffee. Light malty flavour, light coffee, quite light in general, actually. Finish caramel.
