A GOOD HEAD IS ESSENTIAL.
Especially when it comes to stout. We use nitrogen bubbles to give our Ink Stout its thick, creamy head and smooth finish. And without getting all big headed, we think it’s the finest stout in the land. Loaded with roast and bitter dark chocolate, dark fruits, a rich and smooth body with linger dry finish.
Stout was born in london in the 18th century, but while the black stuff was made famous in ireland, it declined in popularity in the capital, until now. This changes everything and stout has never tasted so good.

(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 20 April 2012) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and dark rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, cocoa, hints of ashes and a generous coffee bitterness in a dry finish. Medium body, dry. Solid and well made dry stout. Very nice.

On tap at CASK Pub & Kitchen, Brighton on 15th April 2012. Thick black with pale brown head. Burnt malt aroma with some citric sourness. Thick roast malts and touches of smoke and lemon citrus in-mouth. Very bitter finish with lemon citrus lingering alongside. Thick grainy mouthfeel.

On tap at Cask Pub& Kitchen Brighton. Black as hell lasting tan. Lots of roasty flavour. Good mouthfeel. Lovely keg stout. Rich thick slight smoke. Good roast.

Clear dark brown beer, nice creamy light beige head, very stable, very adhesive with a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: caramel, mocha, nutty, bit of barnyard, little bit of hops. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: mocha, pretty sour (citric), then coffee, but also lots of hop bitterness. Aftertaste: coffe and quite some hop bitterness, very dry ending. Guess that makes sense, now I see that it's a dry stout.

Draught. Frothy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter nice rosted flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Oily palate.

Tap @ The Black Heart. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, licorice, bitter chocolate and hops. Long bitter finish.

Keg at CBC, London. Pours black-brown with a foamy, off-white head. Tobacco, mild roast aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor, some char, smokey tobacco, some dark malts, light earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild smokey malt finish, some tobacco, light sweetness, charred sugar. Decent beer.

On tap at Craft Beer Co. It pours black, with a beige head. The nose is roasted malt, charcoal, filter coffee and ash. The taste is creamy, roasted malts, ash, watery, cardboard, come chocolate, charcoal and filter coffee, with a dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Ok, but a bit too thin.

From tap at Craft. Pours dark brown to black with a small, creamy and tan head. Aroma is mild fruity and dark roasted malt, light chalky touch. Bitter, dark malt and roasted breadish. Light bitterness, no sweetness. Bitter, dry and dark malty finish.
