Death by Hops IPA was the winner of Olde Hickory's first Pro-Am (2010). The beer was designed by Alex Buerckholtz, award winner homebrewer and proprietor of Hops and Vines in Asheville, NC. Brewed with 2 row barley, hopped with 5 different west coast hops, then twice dry hopped.

Borefts 2019 - Golden with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have floral hops. Good level of bitterness. Balanced and dry.

Sampled at Borefts 2019, Friday. A clear deep golden beer. Aroma of sweet caramelized malt, some honey. Taste of bitter resinous and citrusy hops, pine, caramel. Long bitter finish.

Tap. Clear deep brown color with beige head. Aroma is dark malts, some grains, chocolate. Taste is chocolate, grains, oats?, quite dry finish. Chewy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Fun.

Clear orange beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty fruity, nice and hoppy, resinous, very nice! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit malty, very cheesy, resinous hops, super bitter, dry, citrus notes. Aftertaste: malty, grains, hay, cow fodder.

Sampled at Borefts 2019. Clear deep golden colour, off white head with a small layer retention. Aroma's of hops, resin, fruit confit. Retronasal it's resinous hops, bitter, fruity. Flavour is moderate bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied. Finish is rather bitter. Nice oldschool IPA.
