29/8/2019. Cask at the Woodrow Wilson, Carlisle. Pours golden brown with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, malt, caramel, hops and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight chalky texture, soft carbonation. Not bad.

From cask at Forum, Hexham, Northumberland with OGJ 06.01.18. Clear dark olden. Diminishing off-white head and lacing. Floral aroma and taste of pale malt, pale caramel and subtle hops. Low bitterness. Good drinkability. Smooth mouthfeel.

On cask at the Wheatsheaf in Wetheral. Appearance - amber with a lovely creamy head. Nose - butterscotch I’m afraid but maybetit’s fudge. Taste - more butterscotch and malt. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a slightly astringent finish. Overall - not worth getting another.

500ml Bottle from Beers of Europe: drank at home on 2nd July 2014. Poured into a Bateman’s pint sleeve. Clear amber to copper body with a full but fading off-white head. Nice blend of aromas and flavours, malts lead the way in both the nose and taste, lightly roasted, bread like in fact. The hops are there but in the background somewhat. Good depth of body for a 3.8% ABV brew.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear amber, little to no head. Light malt loaf aromas, dried fruit, bit of butterscotch. Taste hasn’t got a right lot going on. Bit watery. Ok.

Cask (gravity) @ 28th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2011, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, EnglandClear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, moderate hoppy, fruity, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111206]

Smooth tasting golden ale with a small head. Has a malty aroma and neutral flavour.

Cask at Pigs Ear. Clear pale gold beer. Light dry palate. No real head. A little fruit in there but it’s all a bit too dry and insipid to be enjoyable.
