(I am pretty sure that this is different to the Spiced Pumpkin they appear to have had in 2013 and 2014, although I have tasted neither. The blackboard definietly said Smashed, not Spiced, and whilst there was definitely spices present, they were not dominant as it seems form the review of the 2014 Spiced Pumpkin Ale). (On tap) Cloudy amber brown with decent white head. Unusual aroma - toffee, pumpkin and (fruitcake type) spices. Smooth palate - medium bodied with gentle creamy carbonation. Plenty of pumpkin in the flavour and it works pretty well. Kept reminding me of pumpkin soup which was a little disconcerting. There’s some subtle dark toffee notes giving some balance and the slightest hint of bitterness in finish. Unusual beer but very drinkable.
