Lively, pale golden ale with a thick frothy head. Smells light, zesty and delicious. Flavour actually caught me out a little. It’s hoppy and citrusy as you’d expect but there’s an earthiness to it as well. And although I doubted it from the aroma, the bottle is right in saying there’s an oatyness, almost a red beer sort of taste that comes through the back end. Very nice.

33cl bottle from Tebay Services, M6. Straw with a loose white head; tropical fruit and citrus aroma; an interesting mingling of tastes - some sharp grapefruit; warming spices; apricots and wood resin; and a good punch of alcohol adding depth to the finish. A good attempt at a US-style IPA.

On keg at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Goldy orange body, bit hazy, good white head. Nose is the hop staples, pine, citrus, tropicals. Bit of sweetness on the taste, good dry finish. Bit too fizzy and cold, but I can imagine this being a good refresher on a hot day.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Hazy, pale gold. Thin, white head. Sweet malt. Light pineapple. Hint of citrus. Taste has sweetness upfront, then a bitterness that builds slowly, and lasts.

Bottle from the best service station in Britain - Tebay, Cumbria. Hazy amber pour with a small white head. Fragrant hop and tropical fruit nose were the themes that pressed on from the nose to the taste. Decent bitterness and all very well poised. Really a very drinkable IPA that is hard to fault. I can’t have imagined being able to buy a beer of this quality from a motorway services in Britain 5 years ago. Shows how things have progressed for the better.

An extremely off putting "smelly sock" aroma from this one. Perhaps a bad bottle, but made it very difficult to enjoy. Lovely hazy yellow color however, the taste mirrored the aroma, resiny burnt hop cone flavor. Not quite a drain pour but one that was not enjoyable.
