Bottle, at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013. An unclear, light orange colored beer with a small off-white head. Oranges, pine cones, a generic citrusy touch and some malty hints. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, with some strange sweetness. Citrus peel, oranges and pine cones too. Medium body, dry and with a nice carbonation level. Bitter, orange-zesty finish. Well, it’s not so very interesting, but I like the bitterness. 131019

330ml bottle at home. Pours golden orange with no head. Aromas of caramel, orange, pine. Tastes initially sweet, with a decent kick of bitterness. Oily slick mouthfeel. Decent enough IPA.

Sampled at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013. Unclear, deep yellow body with a white head. Not particular strong aroma of citric fruit, pine and some caramel. Flavor is light malty, fruity and some bitterness. Medium body and smooth aftertaste. Totally decent, but pretty average and not really outstanding in any direction. Yet another IPA.

Bottle from Valhalla’s Goat. Hazy golden body with a large white head. Light carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of tangerine, chalky malt and leafy green hops. Lovely citrussy flavour that verges on sour in the finish. Pine, flowers, lime and yeast. Nice and dry. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Average carbonation. A absolute cracker of an IPA (and a bargain at just £2.15).

Cask at the Le Gothique’s Halloween Beer Festival 2013. Poured a hazy golden colour with just the smallest halo of white head. Aroma was unpleasantly sulphureous, with the slightest hint of urinal cakes... also some soft fruit, which edge off. Flavours didn’t seem to overly compromised with notes of tangerine, candy sugar and malt. Finish was straw, dry grain and pine needles.

Cask at the Lyric, soho. It pours hazy amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is wood, earth, plenty of sticky tropical fruit and a touch of grass. The taste is bitter, earth, grass, resin, wood, orange peel, grapefruit, mango and peach with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Balance is spot on. Really rather nice.

Bottle on the train from Inverness to Wick, from Tomlinsons, 20/10/13. Hazed orange amber with a good sized off white head. Nose is bitter orange, light hop scent, toasted malt, soapy waft. Taste comprises bitter hops, orange pith, grapefruit, more soapy notes. Medium bodied, light spritz in the carbonation, grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Ok IPA, not one I’d revisit though, the soapy tones dominate a little too much.

Hazy gold - amber beer, little white head head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Smooth but thin malt cream. Nice hops - tangerine, pine resin and a little grass. Touch of mint. Smooth finish with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Super drinkable.
