Can pour from The Beer Store, Salem. It's a clear, reddish-amber with nice sparkle, 2-finger off-white head with excellent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, raisin, rye, grains, hint of unfinished wort. Taste is strong caramel, rye, earthy roast, bittering hops. Mouthfeel is smooth, fairly thick, soft carbonation. Overall, the aroma and flavor bring to mind early iterations of attempts to home brew (with wort-y notes). Not sure how Nelson is adding to this. Might be a bit old. Could be worse but could be much better.
