33cl bottle from my local Waitrose. A tawny brown pour with a cherry red gleam and a fast fading beige head; medicinal cherry aroma; sweet in the mouth with strawberry and almond as well as cherry flavours; then a thin syrupy finish. A bit of a disappointment.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is huge artificial cherry syrup, cherry jam and cherry candy. A metallic touch in the finish. Flavour is quite sugary syrupy sweet, liquid candy. Body is medium. I was hoping for something akin to beer and a little more balanced from d'Achouffe, I severely dislike this artificial sugary concoction. Sorry.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear cherry red with beige head. Aroma of sweet fruity cherries and hint of marzipan. Taste has a prominent cherry flavour, with a semi dark malt, cherry liquor in the finish - not particularly boozy but sweet, moderately tart and light cloying character. Medium+ bodied, quite tasty, somewhat one dimensional.

330ml bottle from Tesco Extra in Chesterfield - clear reddy brown, small pink hued head. Tart cherry notes all through, good tang at the end.

Pours light brown with reddish hues, looks almost dense. Medium sized off-white, slightest pinkish head, quite compact; good enough retention, little lacing. Average intensity in a soft-feeling aroma: half dough-like half sugary base (kinda reminds of marzipan) with a sweet cherry note. Clean and simple. Taste notes follow the aroma closely, cherries a bit more prominent, maybe a citric hint. Perfectly hidden alcohol. Obviously edging towards sweetness, but not as much expected; a bit more on the sweet side in the mouth, still a bit of sweet reminiscence in finish/aftertaste but dry enough and clean. Medium bodied, average carbonation (quite fine/small sized bubbled carbo, especially for a belgian ale), feels slightly soft and pretty drinkable for the abv. Overall: not something exciting i guess, i don't think i would look for it again in the future, but pretty enjoyable.

Tapster: pours red with small head. Aroma is loads of cherry syrup. Taste is syrupy but not as sweet as one would expect from nose. Beer shines through. If only a little.
